Custom domains

Every published app comes with a free link at your-app.exepad.app. When you’re ready for something that looks like you, you can point your own web address at your app instead — for example app.yourcompany.com or book.mysalon.com.

Why use your own address

A custom address is worth it when your app is customer-facing:

  • It’s on-brand — your name, not a shared one, in the address bar.
  • It builds trust — visitors recognize your domain and feel confident it’s really you.
  • It’s memorable — easier to say, print, and share.

Your default .exepad.app link keeps working too, so nothing breaks when you add a custom address.

What you’ll need

You’ll need a domain name you already own — the web address you bought from a domain provider (the company you registered yourcompany.com with). If you don’t have one yet, you can buy one from any domain registrar first.

The general steps

Connecting your domain takes three high-level steps:

  1. Add your domain in Exepad. Tell Exepad the exact address you want to use, such as app.yourcompany.com.
  2. Update your domain’s settings. Exepad gives you a couple of small settings to add at your domain provider. Sign in to wherever you manage your domain, and add them exactly as shown. This is what tells the internet to send visitors to your app.
  3. You’re done. Once the change takes effect, your app answers at your own address. This usually happens within a short while, though it can occasionally take up to a day to fully take hold.
