Preview & iterate

The preview sits beside the chat in your workspace, and it’s the heart of building in Exepad. It’s a genuine, working copy of your app — not a mock-up or a screenshot. Buttons work, forms accept input, and pages behave exactly as they will for your visitors. The one difference: only you can see it.

Click through and test it

Treat the preview like a customer would. If you built a task tracker, add a task, mark one done, try the filter. If you built a booking page, pick a time slot and submit. This is the best way to catch anything that doesn’t feel right before anyone else sees it. Nothing you do in the preview affects your live app — it’s a safe place to try things.

Move between pages and screens

If your app has more than one page, move between them using your app’s own menus and links right inside the preview — the same path your visitors will take. That’s the best way to check the whole journey hangs together, not just one screen. See Pages & navigation.

It updates after every change

Every time you ask for a change in the chat, Exepad rebuilds your app and the preview refreshes to show the result. A bigger request takes a little longer than a small tweak, but you never have to reload anything by hand — when it’s ready, the new version simply appears. Make a change, look at the preview, decide what’s next. That short loop is how apps take shape.

Preview vs. published

Keep the two apart in your mind:

  • Preview — your private draft. Yours alone, updates instantly as you build.
  • Published — the live version out on the web, at your-app.exepad.app or your own domain, for the people you share it with.

Your live app only changes when you publish. You can refine in the preview as much as you like without touching what’s online. If a published change doesn’t work out, you can always roll back.
