Design & theming

The look of your app — its colors, fonts, spacing, and overall feel — is called its design, or theme. Exepad gives every app a clean, professional look to start with, and you shape it from there by asking for what you want. You never touch a style menu unless you want to; a sentence is usually enough.

  • Colors — a main brand color, accent colors, backgrounds. “Use a deep green as the main color.”
  • Fonts — the typefaces for headings and body text. “Use a rounded, friendly font for the headings.”
  • Light or dark — an overall light theme, a dark theme, or both. “Make the whole app dark.”
  • Your logo — add your logo to the header. “Add our logo to the top-left and link it home.”
  • Overall style — the personality of the whole thing. “Make it clean and minimal,” “make it bold and colorful,” “make it feel calm and premium.”

Describe the feeling or the specific detail you’re after, the same way you’d brief a designer:

  • “Make the header dark with white text.”
  • “More whitespace and larger headings — give it room to breathe.”
  • “Round the corners on the cards and add a soft shadow.”

Each request updates the app, and you see the result in the preview right away. Change one thing, look at it, then move on — small steps make it easy to see exactly what moved. See Editing by chatting.

If you already have a brand, point Exepad at it and it’ll build the look around it:

  • “Match our brand — our colors are navy and gold, and our font is Poppins.”
  • “Here’s our website; make the app feel like it belongs to the same company.”

Design is rarely one-and-done. Try a direction, respond to what you see, and adjust — “a bit lighter,” “less busy,” “go back to the previous colors.” Exepad keeps a history of every version, so you can always step back if a look didn’t land. See Version history.
