Publishing your app

While you build, your app lives as a private draft that only you can see. Publishing takes that draft and puts it online — live on the web, at its own link, ready for anyone you share it with to open.

What publishing does

When you publish, Exepad makes your app available at its own address:

your-app.exepad.app

Anyone with that link can open it in a browser — no account with Exepad needed on their end. It’s the real, working app you’ve been previewing, now out in the world. Share the link by email, on social media, in a message, or put it on your website.

Draft and published are separate

Your app always has two versions, and they don’t affect each other until you choose:

  • Draft — your private working copy. Every change you make while building happens here, where only you can see it.
  • Published — the live version other people see. It stays exactly as it was at your last publish, no matter what you change in the draft.

This means you can keep editing, experimenting, and refining freely without touching what’s live. Your visitors only ever see a version you deliberately chose to share.

Publishing again to update

Made changes and want them live? Just publish again. Exepad updates the live version to match your current draft, and your link stays the same. There’s no separate “update” process to learn — publishing is always the one step, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.

Safe and reversible

Publishing is low-risk. Every time you publish, Exepad saves that release, so if a new version isn’t right you can bring an earlier one back into your draft and publish it to restore how things were — without losing any work. See Versions & rollback.
